Project: Pumped storage hydropower plant PSHPP Ingula 4 x 333 MW, South Africa
Year: 2016
Scope of work: Installation of UNITS 1 & 2 and related auxiliaries
PSHPP Ingula uses water from the upper tank during peak loads during the day. During the night, it uses excess power from the grid, produced by conventional sources - coal, fuel oil or nuclear power plants - to pump water into the upper reservoir. The plant is connected to the upper reservoir by a 2 km penstock.
ELECTROSERVICE R.B. performed the installation of units 1 & 2, including turbine and generator auxiliaries.
